Ewelina (Eve) Ahmed

Lead Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (BABCP Accredited) and owner at Fenix CBT

DBT, ACT, CFT and EMDR Therapist.

Hello, I am Eve, owner, and the lead therapist at Fenix CBT Psychotherapy.

 

I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist who is also trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassionate based approach.

 

I offer evidence-based therapy which is adapted to your individual needs and circumstances.

I work with children, young people, and adults. I am skilled at making therapy engaging and enjoyable.

I utilise my skills and extensive experience to help my clients reach their personal targets and clinical recovery. I am very passionate about the work I do and I love helping people reach their goals. I have eight years of experience working in mental health in public and charity sector with adults and children.

​

I specialise in delivering therapy for neurodiverse clients (adults, young people and children) especially Autistic Spectrum Condition. I adapt the therapeutic tasks and processes to people who think outside the box.

​

In addition, I specialise in therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

​

I also have extensive experience delivering CBT for therapy of various forms of anxiety: Panic, Various Phobias, Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety, Separation Anxiety. In addition, also Self-Esteem difficulties, Extreme Emotions and Depression.

I am accredited by British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I am compliant and abide by the code of conduct set by this governing body.

I also hold relevant DBS checks for working with both adults and children.

​

I have begun my journey with psychotherapy with a Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in Psychology. A few years later I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a Level 3 Diploma in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.

Including many others I have also received training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassionate Therapeutic approach.

I am also an experienced and skilled supervisor with Level 2 APT Accreditation.

Throughout my career I have experienced working in various mental health ward settings and community clinic settings within forensic, acute, rehabilitation and eating disorders settings with adults, children and young people.

Susie Hooper

Trainee Cognitive Behavioural Therapist

DBT Therapist

I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, University of Hull (2017). I am in the process of completing further clinical assignments required for accreditation with the BABCP. I hope to complete this by the end of 2023.

I have worked in mental health services in the NHS for over 20 years. Sixteen of these have been spent in Child and Adolescent Services. I used to work as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with individuals requiring hospital or home treatment. 

My expertise is working with 13–18-year-olds. However, I have experience of working with younger children and adults. I am interested in developing expertise in working with young adults.

I have been using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) skills for working with a range of anxiety conditions and depression since 1999.

Over the past 2 years I have delivered CBT to young people with physical conditions and emotional difficulties and medically unexplained symptoms.

Part of my training over the years has been in adapting therapy for Autistic Spectrum Disorder, including Tony Attwood. I am in the process of undertaking further training in CBT for ADHD.

I have additional specialist training in Autism and ADHD as well as all mental health problems.

I also have a lived experience with Autism and ADHD .

I am passionate about my work and I treat each person as a unique individual. I aim to help people feel at ease and empower people. I try to bring a sense of humour to my work when appropriate and a sense of creativity.

Alice Boldison

Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (BABCP Accredited)

Hello! I am Alice and I am a fully qualified cognitive behavioural therapist. I have worked supporting children and young people for over 7 years in various different roles. This includes 2 years offering grief support for children following a bereavement and 5 years within a commissioned Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) delivering direct 1-1 therapeutic support to children, young people and their families. In addition to this, I also have volunteered as a Shout worker, supporting people to get through immediate crisis.

 

I have experience delivering CBT for a range of presentations, including generalised anxiety, OCD, panic, social anxiety, separation anxiety, phobias, health anxiety, PTSD and depression. I have extensive experience working with young people with neurodevelopmental conditions, including ASC and ADHD. In addition, I have experience working within LGBTQ+ youth groups, offering bespoke mental health support.

 

I am incredibly passionate about the work that I do and seeing my clients flourish. I continually adapt the sessions to meet the needs of my clients and always take a person-centred approach, whilst utilising my training to provide evidence-based intervention. I provide a safe space for my clients to explore their problems or struggles and we work together collaboratively to come up with solutions. 

 

I am an accredited member of BABCP.

Beckie Ellis

Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (fully qualified, awaiting a BABCP accreditation)

I’m Beckie, a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with additional training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

​

With 13 years of experience in mental health, I have worked across a variety of settings—including supporting adults with a dual diagnosis of neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions and providing therapy to individuals after a period of inpatient psychiatric care. For the past 6 years, I have worked with young people requiring support for their emotional wellbeing, including working alongside young people with diagnosed and undiagnosed ADHD and Autism.

As an LGBTQ+ therapist who identifies as part of the community, I am passionate about diversity, inclusion, and making therapy work for the individual. I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where clients feel empowered to take an active role in their own journey. Therapy should be a collaborative process, and I encourage open feedback to ensure that our sessions are shaped in a way that best supports your needs.

While I have experience treating a wide range of mental health concerns, my focus is on working with you collaboratively, using your lived experience together with my skills to create meaningful goals that will improve your life. Vicky Wall

Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (BABCP Accredited)

DBT Therapist

Hi, I’m Vicky, a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with additional training in clinical supervision and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). 

 

I have 17 years of extensive experience supporting children, young people, and families across a variety of mental health roles and settings. This includes working within CAMHS hospitals to help children and young people transition back to education, offering early intervention mental health support in schools, colleges, education provisions and family support teams. 

 

In my most recent role in a mental health support team, I delivered low-intensity CBT within schools and colleges. As part of this, I hold a Post Graduate Certificate in clinical supervision. I became a qualified CBT therapist and use this modality to help people I work with. 

 

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with many neurodivergent children and young people, and I consider this an area of specialisation. I adapt therapy to make it engaging and evidence-based for people with neurodiversities. 

 

I’ve support individuals with a range of difficulties including anxiety (separation, health, and social anxiety), low mood, phobias, panic, bereavement, OCD, eating difficulties, and self-esteem challenges. I have a particular passion for working with families and have delivered parent-led CBT, alongside providing advice and guidance.

 

I offer a safe space to explore difficulties you are experiencing, helping you to set goals to make a change in your life and helping you to feel supported and heard.

Maggie Jackson

Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (BABCP accredited)

I am a qualified CBT therapist and Registered Nurse, offering evidence-
based assessment, formulation and treatment for adults and young
people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties. I have over
30 years’ experience practicing in the NHS. I have a high level of
knowledge and understanding of common and severe mental health
difficulties Including anxiety, depressions, PTSD, OCD, drug and
alcohol related difficulties and Neurodiversity, mainly Autism.

I have been studying and practicing Cognitive Behaviour therapy since
2009, I achieved full CBT accreditation with the BABCP in  2017. I have
also completed training and have clinical experience of Compassion
focused therapy (CFT) Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy and

Motivational Interviewing (M.I.)

​

Since 2020 I have had extensive experience of delivering CBT therapy
via video conferencing on a number of media platforms. I am also able
to offer face to face meetings at my Torquay therapy room.

My experience over the last 13 years has given me the privilege to work with adults and young adults in various settings as well as my own private practice. This has included working with neurodiverse clients and of course ensuring therapy is tailored to each individual’s needs.

I particularly specialise in PTSD, trauma and low self-esteem. However I have years of experience working with a range of difficulties (Depression, OCD, Social Anxiety, Body Dysmorphia, Grief, Transitions, Panic attacks and specific fears & phobias).

Everyone at Fenix CBT has appropriate DBS checks, CBT therapists are accredited by BABCP and our Counsellors are Members of BACP. Associate Therapists and Counsellors are not employees of Fenix CBT and are covered by their own insurance.

Artistic Developer.

Accounts and Administration Manager.

Salaam joined Fenix CBT in April 2021. 

Salaam is frequently consulted and advises on Fenix CBT marketing and social media. Salaam also manages our website. Most importantly he produces Fenix CBT artwork including designing our lovely logo. Most of our virtual office is also decorated with Salaam's artwork.

Salaam also manages higher levels of infrastructure of accounts and administration processes.

Monster

Quality Assurance Manager

Monster has a very important role within Fenix CBT. He mostly judges Eve's work daily, ensures that all the admin is up to date, checks for spelling mistakes and ensures that processes are as efficient as possible.
Monster does not like inefficiency.
He also ensures that Eve takes regular breaks, Monster understands the importance of regular breaks.
Monster might make an appearance during the on-line sessions occasionally to check if our clients are satisfied.
In his free time Monster likes sitting on papers, chase paper balls, sing very loudly about his daily sorrows, watch birds, neighbors and their dogs go by, watch ships (mostly spaceships) on tv and listen to classical music.

Pixy

Emotional First Aider

Pixy has a very important role within Fenix CBT Psychotherapy. She is responsible for staff's emotional well-being at all times.
Whenever someone needs some emotional support she is always more than happy to help offering listening ear, purrs, cuddles and kisses.
Pixy is known for sleeping on the job however she never minds her naps being interrupted and will always snap back into her role with upmost professional approach.
In her spare time Pixy likes to sleep, eat anything she can get her paws on, listen to pleasant tunes (George Ezra is her favorite) and watch monkey's on tv.

BatCat

Grounds Manager and Chief of Security

BatCat is a feral cat that lives in her own apartment in our conservatory. Despite frequent invitations inside she expressed no interest in living indoors. She enjoys her freedom and takes her job very seriously.

​

BatCat ensures that all the grounds are kept in a good order. Most importantly she ensures that Fenix CBT office premises are kept safe and secure.

​

BatCat loves to socialise in her free time. She often invites her friends (other cats, hedgehogs and magpies) to spend time with her in her apartment and shares her sofas and biscuits with less fortunate. Rest reassured that she always sceens her visitors first. BatCat also enjoys napping in her cardboard box and cat bed, long walks in the park and chasing insects.
